Well stop it. Stub & Herb’s appreciates you. And to prove it, they’ll give you $2.50 Summit taps ALL MONTH. This is no namby-pamby happy hour or week long special; This is 31 solid days of cheap craft beer.
And just when you thought you couldn’t be appreciated any more they’ll step it up for a Summit beer tasting on Jul 30th with FREE BBQ. Tastings usually start at 7pm with a $5 cover. I’d suggest getting there early because these are getting popular!

Thurs, Jul 17th @7pm:
Come out for the release of Oscura, Furthermore’s newest beer, which looks to be a coffee stout. Chris from Furthermore will be around to answer all of your questions. They’ll be serving some “Wisconsin style grub.” Whatever that is. I’ll keep you updated with any more details.

Any article about the craft beer scene in the Twin Cities wouldn’t be complete without a mention of the Blue Nile. The Strib did one better and wrote a whole piece about it! You even get a bonus look at Al’s five favorite beers; who can argue with that list?
Since we’re on the topic, Al has a big birthday coming up and is pulling out all the stops to throw himself an awesome party with keg tappings every half hour! The throwdown is on Sat, June 28. Here’s the tentative lineup:
4:00pm: Tyranena Dirty old man. (Whiskey Barrel Aged Imperial Rye Porter)
4:30: Cask Rush River Bubblejack IPA.
5:00: Tyranena Devil Over A Barrel Bourbon Barrel Aged Imperial Oatmeal Porter
5:30: Cask Bell’s Two Hearted Ale
6:00: Tyranena’s new Brewer’s Gone Wild entry, Scurvy, IPA brewed with orange peel.
6:30: Cask CynicAle aged on Oak
7:00: Surly Two
Al will be jockeying the taps until 7 when he’ll come to the other side of the bar, so try to leave a little bit of the good stuff for him to enjoy, huh? This event is destined to go down in history so make sure that you don’t miss it.

From the newsletter:
American Dream Tapping – Thursday, June 5th
You do NOT want to miss what we have coming up this Thursday!
Summer hits Rock Bottom early as hop lovers from near and far unite for the tapping of our beloved American Dream, a medium-bodied Ale brewed with the finest Amarillo hops from Yakima Valley. The distinct fruit and citrus flavors of the hops are skillfully balanced by two-row and Munich malts, creating the perfect summer brew.
See ya there!

Thurs, May 5th @7pm, Grumpy’s NE will be hosting Jim and Jason from Two Brothers Brewing for a “meet and eat” sausage cook-off. I had the delicious Cain & Ebel on Saturday night and if all of their beers are this good, I can see myself spending some good money on these guys.

I meant to write about this the other day, so I’m sure most all of you know about it already…
Flat Earth is recalling all of their product from store shelves. The recall is in response to some bottles that have failed (exploded) on store shelves. Jeff said they were able to rule out contamination at the brewery as the cause of the problems. If you’ve already got ‘em, advice from the brewery is to keep the beers cold.

The wait is over! Err, no. Now you’ll have to wait in line. Here’s the word from Surly:
We will be selling 750ML bottles of Two at the brewery. Sales will take place on Saturday growler filling times, noon-2:00. One bottle is the max per person and we will have 84 bottles to sell per week over the next 3 weekends. Price is $15 per bottle. We filled about 400 bottles and that is it. No rainchecks, no holds and no do-overs.
Yow. That’s a limited release if I’ve ever heard of one.

Got some great news from Mike Hoops today, “Response on the Mango Mama has been outstanding, just to let you know when the next batch will be served……we will TRY and release one keg every Monday night”
I’m not sure how long this is going to go on but we can only hope that he means every Monday FOREVER!
