Today was an amazing beer day. Let me count the ways.

1) Worked late. That sucked. The good news was that there was no traffic on the way to Four Firkins. Picked up a 4-pack of Coffee Bender. Excellent.

2) Received a package of beers from Susanna in South Africa. We met in Japan and I shared some Furious that I had stashed in my bag. She promised to send me some of the local tipple. These’ll be reviewed on the site once I get some free time.

3) Cinnamon decided around noon-time that she wanted to have dinner at Blue Nile. This meant one thing to me: Hopslam! (Al also gave us Bell’s snifters!)

4) At 10:30 I got an email from UMMO with my judging assignments. Fantastically, I got my first two choices! Specialty beers and Tripel/Golden Strong.

5)  Just opened a Victory Old Horizontal that I’ve been cellaring for a year. It will never cease to amaze me how much difference even a couple months of downtime can make in a beer.
